On September 23, 2018, Rev. Steven D. Neville, Ph.D. was installed as the eighth pastor of Metropolitan ​Baptist Church, Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Reverend Steven Neville is a native of the Roxbury section of Boston, Massachusetts.  He is the son of Jeanette Neville and Richard Wood. Pastor Neville was educated in the Boston Public School System where he graduated from the Boston Latin School with the class of 1980.  He received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Dartmouth College in 1984, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in 1989, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2017.
